EPUT Hockley District Nursing Team is looking for a dynamic addition to our administrative team who play an integral part in the clerical support of our District Nursing Team

Main duties of the job

  • To provide administrative support to the District Nursing Service
  • To provide comprehensive and effective secretarial and administrative support to the Senior District Nursing Team and frontline nursing staff within the District Nursing Team
  • To communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and maintain a professional image of the Trust at all times.
  • To act as the primary point of contact for the Hockley District Nursing Team for internal and external communication, screening calls/visitors as appropriate.

Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.

All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

To work as a member of the Directorates Administration Service ensuring that a high quality and efficient service is provided at all times, which may include giving support and providing cover in other areas as requested.

Education / Qualifications

Essential

  • Good standard of general education (Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English)
  • IT skills equivalent to RSA3, NVQ2 or relevant experience of Microsoft Office packages

Desirable

  • European Computer Driving Licence qualification or equivalent

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding and awareness of data protection and confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate routine information both verbally and in writing
  • Knowledge and understanding of general administrative processes
  • Knowledge of Trust information systems

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of medical / pharmaceutical terminology

Skills / Experience

Essential

  • IT / Computer Literate / Able to send, manage and receive emails
  • Methodical, organised approach to work with good attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines

Desirable

  • Previous Administrative Experience
  • Previous Healthcare Experience

Personal Qualities

  • Customer focused, with a calm and empathetic persona, good listener, patient and diplomatic
  • Ability to engage with people of varying levels of seniority
  • Flexible approach to working; ability to plan, organise and prioritise own workload and use own initiative
