Part Time Hours - 15 hours per weekWe are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and friendly chaplain to join our chaplaincy and spiritual care team in Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within our mental health units, being responsible for chaplaincy provision for our patients and staff.
You will be eager to work in a multi-faith and belief context with a genuine passion for serving patients and staff.
This opportunity is for a chaplain who can operate as part of a team, yet must also be able to operate as an autonomous, qualified practitioner with the role to seek out and respond to the spiritual and religious needs of individuals, their carer's and staff for several sites for which they will have particular responsibility.
Main duties of the job
You will be a chaplain who has a focus on delivering a high standard of compassionate patient centred care, working creatively to engage patients and staff.
We are looking for a chaplain who is educated to degree level and has some experience of chaplaincy in their current setting. You will have knowledge and understanding of religious and spiritual needs in a healthcare setting and some understanding of mental health. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and are able to offer compassionate care to patients and staff. Your approach will be non-judgemental and you will have the ability to work within a multi-faith team, meeting the needs of all faiths and beliefs.
You will have a friendly disposition, and will be an approachable and patient listener. Ability to participate in various teaching programmes and deliver video and audio 'thoughts for the week' for EPUT staff and hospital radio.
