Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to work in a comprehensive and well-established in-patient adolescent service in Colchester, Essex.

Our services have undergone exciting changes, where psychological therapies have been afforded elevated importance in the new clinical model of service delivery that is central to our service transformation process. Main duties of the job

The postholder may be responsible for completing service level audit projects as part of quality and development initiatives. Responsibilities will also include liaison with allied professionals, contributing to the sharing of psychological knowledge and case discussion. Remaining time will comprise attending referrals meetings, participating in department forums and opportunities to shadow other team members. All work will take place under the direction and management of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. There will be a requirement to complete clinically related administration.

Essential

  • An upper second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Previous experience of working within a care setting.

Desirable

  • Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis
  • Previous experience of working with children or adolescents in a care setting.
