Job summary
EPUTis developing new treatment pathways, processes and therapeutic provisions to meet the needs of our clients with a diagnosis or traits of personality disorder.
You will be joining teams of committed colleagues. You need experience working with this client group, understanding of psychodynamic formulation and trauma informed care. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of or willingness to train in Mentalisaition Based Therapy. We are developing the capacity to deliver this intervention as recommend by NICE.
You will conduct assessments for psychotherapy; making recommendations for the appropriate modality. Psychotherapy works closely with the local MDTs including the community mental health teams, Personality Disorder and Complex Needs Team and psychology colleagues. You will be supported with supervision provided by the medical psychotherapist, clinical head of the psychotherapy and will be encouraged to developwith appropriate CPD.The psychotherapists meet weekly for a case discussion and referral management.
You will be responsible to support operational functioning of the service; engaging with audits, outcome measures, case management activities mandatory training, supervision and appraisals.
You will need to demonstrate: client focus, trauma informed care, using this and psychotherapeutic thinking in all clinical work interactions with colleagues, carers and other stakeholders at all times.
Flexible working is supported; clinical work is in person.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide individual psychodynamic psychotherapy, conduct assessment/consultations and be able to identify with the client and colleagues the most appropriate therapeutic modality. The post hold will support and work with colleagues in the development of the MDT provision. You will be responsible for the clinical administration of your caseload including maintaining notes, outcome measures and communication with all involved colleagues. You will attend supervision, clinical discussion for a and be responsible for maintaining a record of this and all required mandatory training. At the request of the clinical head or operational manager you may attend system wide referral MDTs, the locality Multi-Agency Forum, and locality operational meetings.
