Senior Podiatrist Band 5

We would welcome applications from people eager to obtain successful completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Podiatry through an apprenticeship scheme running in collaboration with the University of East London.

Leading to recognition by the Health Care Professions Council as an Allied Health Professional Podiatrist.

The apprentice Podiatry programme is 4 years -combines and integrates both academic and work-based learning through close collaboration between employers and education providers.

You will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role of Podiatrist within the service and through completion of the Podiatry training programme which includes working in community clinics . Whilst undertaking this training you will work within the service as a podiatry assistant.

On successful completion of the programme you will be a qualified Podiatrist and equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as an AHP Podiatrist and will work to a nationally recognised code of conduct.

As an apprentice, you will spend a minimum of 30% of your time doing off the job training. This means that you will spend time on day release at UEL where you will attend lectures, tutorials and practical classes. The rest of your time you will spend working for the trust where you will put into practice what you have learnt at University.

The post would provide opportunity to assist Podiatrists working who assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual treatment plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs and patient discharge plans for patients with a wide range of clinical needs .Promote health education.
