We have an exciting opportunity to recruit number of brand new opportunities Band 7 Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Practitioner 0 - 19 ASD roles.

We have implemented a Neurodevelopmental pathway approach to the lighthouse child development centre so we can focus on multidisciplinary ways of working, in support of the community transformation model. As Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Practitioner 0 - 19 ASD you will want to develop your skills in working in neurodiversity community and team. A comprehensive and tailored developmental plan will be designed with the post holder depending on training development needs identified.

You will be part of a team responsible for a designated caseload of children, young people who are suspected to be autistic or attention deficit disorder. You will work as part of our integrated multi-disciplinary team, and participate in the clinical decision-making process to determine the most appropriate management plans for all service users who are under the care of the team.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will participate in the diagnostic process from beginning to end, to deliver signposting and some post diagnostic support. Also support to Pathway Leads in day-to-day running of service.
  • The post holder will improve the lives of children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by minimising the impact of their condition through the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and wellbeing.
  • The post holder will undertake specialist clinical and diagnostic assessments for children and young person who have been referred for an ASD diagnosis.
  • The post holder will provide onward referral where appropriate and assist in developing MDT care plans to ensure appropriate care for children and young people with a suspect ASD.
  • The post holder will promote and support the assessment, diagnosis and confirmation of the condition of ASD in undiagnosed children and young person in the south east area. Promote signposting to services for further support. Promote and support the development of training in this specialist area.
  • The post holder will take work with agencies and colleagues in the promotion of best practice in ASD as well as providing advice, awareness and training. Supporting colleagues to deliver shared and practice based care through the provision of training and advice to enhance their knowledge and skills.
