Rehabilitation Assistant (Healthcare Assistants in our Rehab Team) Band 3 - £22,816 - £24,336 per annum, £15,210 - £16,224 per annum pro rata Location - South East Essex Area inc Castlepoint, Rochford & Southend

Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT) is currently looking to recruit Rehabilitation Assistants (Health Care Assistants in our rehab team) to join our community rehabilitation service.

Main duties of the job

The Collaborative Care Team is a multi-disciplinary therapy led team providing rapid assessment and rehabilitation for patients living within their own homes. The team support the facilitation of discharge and the prevention of admission for patients who require rehabilitation for a range of conditions including stroke, orthopaedic problems and neurological issues. The overall aim is to empower people to manage their recovery, re-educate and reskill to allow them to live as independently as possible.

As part of our friendly supportive team, you will be providing person centred care and supportive recovery. The service is provided across the whole of the South East Essex area including Castlepoint, Rochford and Southend and as such, it is essential that any applicant is able to travel efficiently and effectively across this area.

The successful candidate will support people with personal care and assist in the provision of rehabilitation programmes during a range of shift patterns over seven days per week, in line with service needs. Candidates should be motivated, willing to learn and be enthusiastic and demonstrate good interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, families, carers and colleagues.

  • To provide direct care and rehabilitation to the patients served by the team.
  • To act in a manner that protects and maintains the patients sense of dignity and respect, while observing their individual religious and cultural practices.
  • In accordance with EPUT confidentiality policy. Being aware that any information received whilst on duty if confidential.
  • Act as direct support to senior member of the team including the Team Leader, associate practitioners, nurse and therapists to ensure the effective service provision.

If you have been successful at the interview stage, but do not have enough experience for this role, you may be offered a position as a Band 2 Heath Care Assistant Apprentice. As part of the Band 2 HCA role you will be enrolled onto the Apprenticeship scheme, providing you with the opportunity to earn as you learn. This role enables you to gain valuable experience on the wards/community settings whilst working towards gaining your Care Certificate and naturally progressing into the guaranteed Band 3 HCA role.
