Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) has the exciting offer of this post within the Immunisation Service Administrative team to support the Community and School Aged Immunisation programmes.
This is initially a 6 month fixed term contract with the possibility of it becoming a permanent role.
The successful candidate will assist in providing effective vaccine transportation to and from Immunisation sessions in addition to supporting the administration needs of this service.
The post is varied with requirements to work from the office base at Ampthill, and various community and school based settings across Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes and Central Bedfordshire.
Main duties of the job
To work as a courier and administrative support for the BLMK Community and School Aged Immunisation Service. To support and provide effective vaccination transportation and administrative support to the Immunisation Team, covering the areas of Bedford, Luton, Milton Keynes and Central Bedfordshire.

Job responsibilities
- The post holder will manage the safe and timely delivery and return of school/clinic based vaccinations from the clinical base maintaining the cold chain and associated record keeping as directed.
- The post will support the administration role through distributing and collecting forms, letters and health promotion material as required by the immunisation program. This will involve delivery to schools and other health facilities, liaising information to a range of internal and external contacts.
- Work together with the rest of the courier team to plan weekly delivery and collection of vaccines to sessions in schools/clinics
- To provide transportation of equipment for immunisation sessions to and from the venues in schools/clinics and the community.
- Maintain vehicle, keeping it clean and tidy, performing regular fluid / tyre checks and presenting vehicle for servicing and MOT as required by lease agreement.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of equipment and vaccines required for the Immunisation team.
- Provide administrative support to the Immunisation teams using tools such as the Microsoft Office, Word and SystmOne electronic packages. On an ad-hoc basis you will be required to undertake admin duties including scanning of documents, answering incoming calls and making outgoing calls.
- Support the Immunisation Nurse in the preparation of materials for the immunisation programme as required.
- The post holder will show initiative to improve service delivery and prioritise work in response to service needs.
- Will disseminate immunisation information to a range of internal and external contacts.
- Will attend all training and development appropriate to the job role.
