Post is Full Time - 37.5 hours

Base- The lodge, Runwell, Essex

This is a varied and exciting Role.

  • To support the functions of the Infection prevention and Control Team (IPC) within a specific care group working in conjunction with a registered IPC Nurse
  • Take an active role in ensuring delivery of the IPC work plan as directed by the care group and Head of IPC
  • Lead the fit testing programme for the Trust in relation to FFP3 respirators
  • To have understanding of the principles of IPC and preventing the spread of

infection

  • An understanding of the physical healthcare agenda and support infection control team with training within own area of competence.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will take an active part in the delivery of the IPC agenda

  • Support a registered IPC Nurse with the IPC work stream relating to a specific care group and the wider organisation

  • The post holder will provide basic advice support and training to staff within the care group as well as supporting education at road shows and other such events.
    • To work as part of the Infection Control Team, with the freedom to answer queries within post holder area of competence, particularly in relation to telephone enquiries and sign post where required

    • To ensure timely communications and escalations within the team and the wider organisation when required

    • Have the confidence to challenge poor practice appropriately where it is observed and raise with operational colleagues
