Senior Podiatrist ,Diabetes Specialist

Band 7 (1 year fixed term contract or secondment)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Podiatrist to work in the new evolving MDFT in Southend Hospital

Working as part an integrated hospital service working in tandem with the diabetes, vascular and orthopaedic services, and also the and Community Podiatry and Podiatric surgery services

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be required to work as an integrated autonomous practitioner, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, care planning, and delivering treatment to patients with a wide range of clinical needs. These patients will be high need high risk patients, with diabetes and peripheral arterial disease, and a range of co morbidities.

Care plan development, execution and revision of the plans will be undertaken; this would be alongside the various other health care professionals.

The post holder must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work alone and as part of a team. Commitment to patient care is paramount as you will be assisting them in achieving their maximum potential.

The post holder will be encouraged to take part in various CPD activities including clinical support, and in- house training during team meetings, and staff meetings.

There is an opportunity to be involved with audit and research.

The post holder should be able to drive and have their own car to travel around the district.

All applicants must hold a degree or diploma in Podiatric medicine and a Certificate for local Anaesthesia and be registered with the HCPC.

You would need to be able to demonstrate an ongoing CPD record.

Post is subject to Enhanced DBS disclosure.

Computer skills are necessary.
