Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic group analyst and adult psychotherapist to join our well-established, dynamic and friendly clinical South West Essex team. We are looking for a clinician who values innovation and advancing high quality care. EPUT is currently developing a more comprehensive pathway for clients experiencing personality disorders. The Complex Needs and Personality Disorder pathway lead by Psychological Services includes, psychotherapy, psychology and Occupational Therapy, all providing treatments to this client group. We work closely with our CMHT colleagues.

We are looking to recruit a Psychoanalytic Group Psychotherapist/Group Analysist with the ability to provide assessments and group psychotherapy, especially Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) to this client group. The post holder will join a dynamic and experienced team who provide psychotherapy, assessment, consultation and treatment plans to clients who experience severe emotional disturbance often with a history of trauma and multiple morbidities. There is a good skill mix in the team providing individual and group psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy, art psychotherapy, systemic family therapy and psycho-social nursing. The psychotherapy provision is integrated with other colleagues on the Personality Disorder & Complex Needs pathway. Continued professional development is supported and promoted, in line with appraisal and service objectives.

Main duties of the job

  • To work within the context of the Psychological Services Directorate delivering specialist group psychotherapy, interventions and care plans using psychodynamically informed group therapy delivered as appropriate for clients with personality disorders.
  • Develop MBT group provision
  • Work alongside colleagues, taking shares responsibility for developing psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Providing a highly specialist psychotherapy consultation, autonomously assessing and treating patients with personality disorder using appropriate specialist intervention.
  • Maintenance of a caseload that includes clients with disturbed behaviour patterns and high levels of psychological distress.
  • Providing specialist clinical case consultation and advice; based on specialist skills to colleagues in the CMHT and the CN&PD pathway
  • Provide specialist supervision to honorary staff or students as requested.
  • Working autonomously within professional guidelines and within the policies and guidelines ofthe Trust.

Essential

  • Recognised qualification in one of the core mental health professionals (e.g. nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, social work) or extensive clinical experiences at post-qualification level.

Desirable
