Job summary

We are delighted to be inviting applications from enthusiastic Clinical/Counselling Psychologists to join our expanding and innovative Training & Partnerships Team in Psychological Services. The team are responsible for an expanding array of projects, which include training delivery to staff within the workforce, building our links and provision to partner organisations, alongside our flagship Masters programme. We are a friendly, enthusiastic and supportive psychology-led team who are committed to delivering excellent training, supporting high-quality psychological service-provision. This post offers an exciting new opportunity to develop a career in training in Clinical Psychology & the psychological professions. Post holders will contribute to the development and delivery of the Masters training for Clinical Associates in Psychology (CAPs).

Main duties of the job

The role includes design and delivery of teaching and assessment as well as supervision, monitoring and support of individual learners, liaison with practice placement supervisors, and contribution to the governance of the programme. There will also be opportunities to contribute to other exciting projects being developed by our team, including psychologically informed CPD for the wider NHS staff group and projects aimed at widening access to careers in the psychological professions, supporting equality, diversity and inclusion.

We are looking for staff to bring a range of expertise across psychological therapies, mental health, physical health, learning disabilities and specialist areas of delivery across the adult and older adult range. Expertise and accreditation in CBT would be welcomed. We are particularly interested to hear from those who bring experience of teaching, lecturing, research and supervision and who are keen to build their experience and skills in clinical training. These posts are all offered on a fractional basis so that they can easily fit alongside a clinical role, or another training role. For those who are interested in full-time post, we have a range of opportunities in clinical specialisms that could be combined with one of the training roles to make up the additional sessions.

About us

The new CAP programme has excellent links to the national group of trainers as well as to the professional body and other providers in the region. Post holders will have the opportunity to build their engagement with these wider networks, offering excellent experience to develop leadership skills and an understanding of the wider system.

The Trust offers excellent support for staff CPD, and post holders will be supported to gain qualifications in learning and teaching; other opportunities, for example to gain dual accreditation in a specialist area of psychological therapy, to undertake leadership training, or to develop an area of research, are also available supported by the appraisal process. We have strong links with several regional universities that include research collaborations as well as contribution to teaching and placement experience.

The CAP programme includes learners from across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and beyond and we deliver the programme using an innovative 'blended learning' approach to the teaching delivery, which includes both remote online delivery and some place-based delivery. While the programme is based in Epping, which is easily accessible via both the M25 and the M11 and attracts London fringe weighting, the staff team are able to do a significant proportion of their work remotely and there are opportunities for flexible working arrangements.
