Job summary
The role will include providing clinical pharmacy services to dedicated wards alongside developing skills and knowledge to enable you to work towards contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, providing medicines education to patients, carers and staff and completing departmental audits. You will be given excellent support by the Senior pharmacists within the team and will be supported in continuing professional development andeducation within Psychiatry It will be expected that you will work towards a distance learning Postgraduate Certificate in General Clinical Pharmacy once settled into the role.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services within mental health and learning disability, proactively using skills and knowledge to improve patient care via medicines optimisation. The post is suitable for new or recently qualified pharmacists, including applicants who were 'provisional registrants' and are now fully qualified.
Role
Your role will primarily involve provision of Inpatient clinical pharmacy services to the Linden centre and Crystal centre. You will be required to make regular visits to these clinical sites engaging with the different teams to improve the safe and secure handling of medicines and Patient Safety
Your duties will also include occasional dispensary shifts in the main Trust dispensary in Chelmsford, and may also require occasional travel to other areas of the Trust in Essex, so being a driver with access to your own vehicle is an essential requirement.
You will be given excellent support by the senior pharmacists and technicians within the team and will be supported in your continuing education within general and psychiatric pharmacy. You will be expected to work towards a Postgraduate Certificate in General Clinical Pharmacy. You will participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas, the on-call pharmacist rota, and any early and late working rotas as required.
