Job summary

The role will include providing clinical pharmacy services to dedicated wards alongside developing skills and knowledge to enable you to work towards contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings, ward rounds, providing medicines education to patients, carers and staff and completing departmental audits. You will be given excellent support by the Senior pharmacists within the team and will be supported in continuing professional development andeducation within Psychiatry It will be expected that you will work towards a distance learning Postgraduate Certificate in General Clinical Pharmacy once settled into the role.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit a specialist mental clinical pharmacist to support the provision of clinical pharmacy services within the inpatient mental health teams.

To provide specialist clinical pharmacy primarily at Linden centre and Crystal centre, to support the medicines-related care of patients, support the provision and development of medicines management services and to participate in training, education and research as required.

Your duties will also include occasional dispensary shifts in the main Trust dispensary in Chelmsford, and may also require occasional travel to other areas of the Trust in Essex, so being a driver with access to your own vehicle is an essential requirement

We are seeking an experienced pharmacist to join our pharmacy team as Clinical Pharmacist .You will provide pharmacy and medicines management services to all mental health and specialist services which include acute adult mental health services, older adult mental health services, secure mental health services, learning disability, CAMHS and a mother and baby unit across the Trust

You should be able to work on your own initiative as well as within a larger team, and will be supported by the wider Trust pharmacy team. You will work 37.5 hours per week including participation in on-call, weekend, early, late and Bank Holiday rotas, as necessary.

  • oMasters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent acceptable for registration by the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • oCurrent and continued registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a practicing member
  • oPostgraduate Certificate or Diploma in relevant area of pharmacy practice, or equivalent experience of at least two years post registration. Willing to work towards a postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in psychiatric pharmacy practice
