Job summary

The Bedfordshire and Luton Wheelchair Service assesses and provides suitable wheelchairs and associated seating for clients of all ages with long-term conditions which impair their ability to walk.

Our dynamic team is looking for an assistant practitioner to work a minimum of 30 hours (part-time over 4 days) or 37.5 hours (full time over 5 days) per week.

They would provide technical and clinical support for the Wheelchair Service.

The applicant should have experience working within a wheelchair or equipment service, and / or in caring for people with complex disabilities.

This is an exciting role that offers clinical client contact and technical skills.

The team covers the whole of Bedfordshire and Luton and use of a car is essential.

Main duties of the job

o The key duties of the post holder will include fitting of equipment, stock management, maintenance and repair of wheelchairs and postural seating, contact with clients, other professionals and general public, ordering equipment, data input and other administrative tasks as required.

o The post holder will progress to undertaking assessment of clients of all ages
