Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist
A consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist is required for the City & Hackney Specialist Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service. City And Hackney Specialist CAMHS is a long established service for the assessment and treatment of young people up to the age of 18 years, their families and carers living in the borough and has an excellent reputation. The vacancy in this established post has arisen following the previous post holder moving to another role.
The post-holder would be expected to provide Consultant input and clinical leadership to the Emotional & Behavioural Pathway. The role of the Consultant is to provide psychiatric assessment and treatment, contribute a psychiatric perspective, provide senior clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team, offer consultation to other professionals and agencies and facilitate the development of the team and wider service
Main duties of the job
You will join 5 (4.0 WTE) other Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists based in C&H CAMHS. In addition to the above clinical duties, clinical supervision, teaching, training and research, the Service takes part in the Trust's active and extensive Healthcare Governance and Quality Improvement agenda.
The local population is very diverse with high levels of deprivation. There are good working relationships with Community CAMHS, Social Care, Education and Third Sector agencies through the C&H CAMHS Alliance.
