Job summary

We are seeking a Counselling/Clinical Psychologist or CBT Therapist to work in our Adult Community Mental Health Services. It is an exciting time to join the mental health services in this area. We are developing new ways of working as we move further towards a truly trauma-informed culture and shape new psychologically-informed intervention offers alongside our partners in primary care and the voluntary sector.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will provide specialist evidence-based assessment, formulation and intervention for people with a range of complex mental health needs, including individual, couple/family and group interventions. They will possess an enthusiasm for and experience of working in a mental health MDT and demonstrate the skills to help steer the team to psychological understanding of their clients and the development of psychologically informed services. The team values the role of psychological therapists highly and, as such, the role is multifaceted and includes consultation and teaching roles, as well as active involvement in quality improvement projects, staff support initiatives and wider Trust initiatives.

We are therefore looking for someone with good knowledge and skills within these domains, and someone who is ready to join an innovative and efficient service as we move into transformation of services in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.

About us

You will be co-located with your team and with the other Psychologists and therapists who work within the area and will be working with primary and secondary care colleagues.
