Job summary

Are you looking to progress your leadership skills and be at the forefront of change? We are seeking a Community Nursing Sister/Qualified District Nurse to work within our integrated Primary Care Hub, which covers Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard ( this post is based in Dunstable). This is a friendly, dedicated and supportive team where professional guidance is readily available. We are an Outstanding Trust where the focus is on the delivery of quality outcomes and improving the patient experience.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and motivated and has the confidence to support, coach and develop individuals to deliver consistently high quality services. You will also be required to manage your own caseload. Excellent communication and time management skills, and sound clinical knowledge, is essential. A flexible approach is required to accommodate the changing needs of the service along with the drive to influence service development.

Education/Qualifications and Training

  • Registered General Nurse
  • Demonstrate evidence-based practice and up-to-date clinical skills
  • Evidence of significant post registration nursing experience including community setting.
  • Relevant teaching/mentorship qualification and evidence of teaching skills
  • Post-registration nursing experience, including community experience

Desirable

  • Specialist Practitioner Qualification
  • Nurse Prescriber

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Literate in IT/Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of the principles of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children
  • Knowledge of the principles of health promotion and prevention of illness
  • Good oral communication skills based on fluency on the English language

Desirable

  • Demonstrate an understanding of national government initiatives in health & social care & how they impact on local services.
