Job summary

Luton CAMHS is working in partnership with Luton Flying Start and Luton Family Partnership Service to deliver EPEC - the Empowering Parents Empowering Communities programme that trains local parents to lead evidenced based parenting groups, for other local parents.

The EPEC courses are led by local parents known as Parent Group Leaders (PGLs) who will have completed the accredited EPEC training and will receive regular support from the Luton EPEC Hub. This will involve attending an accredited training course and on completion each of the PGLs will receive regular support and supervision to fulfil the role.

This is an exciting opportunity to help develop new skills, build confidence and improve your interpersonal skills, whilst you will also have access to a range of additional training and development opportunities from within ELFT CAMHS.

Please note The Parent Group Leader training will require a commitment equivalent to ten full day sessions over a 2-3 month period in the Summer.

This role is paid via ELFT Bank on an adhoc basis.

Main duties of the job

  1. The Parent Group Leader will be responsible for facilitating and delivering a Being a Parent (BAP) course to parents in your community.
  2. Help recruit and embed new Parent Group Leaders into the Luton EPEC Hub
  3. Have a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Luton area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
  4. Helping parents to develop individual plans and goals for themselves, their children and family.
  5. Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.

About us

To support you in this role, you will receive regular supervision and access to a variety of CPD sessions. You will also be supported by a Partnership Group (Luton CAMHS, Luton Flying Start and the Luton Family Partnership Service) and work closely with the EPEC Hub Coordinator to mobilise the hub and deliver our first group at the end of September 2024.
