Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Support Practitionerwithin Bedfordshire Community Health Services Speech and Language Therapy Service. The post willinvolve working with adults with acquired speech and language and swallowing difficulties caused bya variety of medical conditions.

Main duties of the job

Based at Bedford Hospital the successful candidate will predominantly be working in the communityand outpatients and will also be based at Headway House in Bedford for two sessions a week (1session is 3.75 hours). Headway provides services to people following brain injury.The post will require excellent communication skills. Training will be given to carry out the role andyou will be under the supervision of the speech and language therapists.
