CAMHS Community Mental Health Nurse

Job responsibilities

The main base would be at the CAMHS office, Rush Court, Bedford, MK40 3JT and currently there is some flexibility regarding working from home. We are willing to consider candidates who would like to work part-time.

Education/ Qualification/ Training

Essential

• oRegistered Mental Health Nurse (Part 3/8/13 of the UKCC Register)

Experience

Essential

• oExperience of care planning and assessment in a mental health setting
• oExperience of care coordination in a mental health setting
• oExperience of working in a multi-disciplinary setting
• oExperience of working with vulnerable people who present with high risk behaviours

Desirable

• oPrevious experience of working in CAMHS
• oExperience of working with young people and families
• oExperience of working in a culturally diverse area

Skills and Abilities

Essential

• oAble to manage own time and caseload
• oExcellent verbal and written communication skills, which will include report writing
• oAble to assess, hypothesize and prescribe nursing interventions
• oProven ability to work with people in distress
• oAbility to contain and work with organisational stress and ability to "hold" stress of others
• oA high degree of self-awareness and an ability to reflect on personal and professional attitudes and accept feedback
• oComputer skills

• oUp to date knowledge of nursing issues including assessment and interventions
