Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic mental health nurse to join our innovative multi-disciplinary Emotional & Behavioural Team (EBT) in North Bedfordshire CAMHS.

Main duties of the job

You will hold a caseload of children and adolescents with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. You will complete mental health and risk assessments with young people. You will create treatments plans and care coordinate for your clients and their families to ensure a high standard of care. You will also provide support to parents, carers and educational services as well as attending the appropriate MDT meetings.

We would welcome applications from mental health nurses who are keen to transition into a CAMHS setting from other areas of practice.

  • oExperience of working with vulnerable people who present with high risk behaviours

Desirable

  • oPrevious experience of working in CAMHS
  • oExperience of working with young people and families
  • oExperience of working in a culturally diverse area

  • oAble to manage own time and caseload
  • oExcellent verbal and written communication skills, which will include report writing
  • oAble to assess, hypothesize and prescribe nursing interventions
