Job summary
The post holder will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing support to clients and their carers when individuals are in a mental health crisis to prevent admission to a mental health hospital or to facilitate early and safe discharge from the ward.
The service covers the whole of the London Borough of Newham.
The post holder will be expected to visit service users in their homes or community locations. The role will entail providing personal, practical, and social support to service users, their families, and carers using the principles of recovery.
Hours of work will be over 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking support workers who have excellent communication skills, and time management skills and can demonstrate empathy when conducting crisis care. We are looking for a support worker who is enthusiastic about working in a dynamic service where weekly training and development are provided.
The service runs across 24 hours, 7 days a week therefore flexibility is essential and shift patterns are standard(day/nights and weekends). In return, successful applications will be supported by way of supervision, reflective practice, training sessions, and professional and developmental support through the management structure.
