We are delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist, to work as a Senior Specialist Clinician as part of the Transforming Care Service, working to local and national standards appropriate to the clinical specialty.The post will sit within the Community Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service and support the Transforming Care work progressing across BLMK. Previous experience working with Autistic people is a key requirement of the role, in addition to experience working in community mental health services. You will take an autism focused lead, in service and staff development within mental health services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.
Main duties of the job
You will need to be a Sensory Integration accredited practitioner or equivalent and have knowledge of local and national initiatives relating to the Transforming Care Programme. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of the Mental Capacity Act, the Mental Health Act, the Care Act and the Autism Act are also required.You will be supported to develop your leadership skills within the role, in order to support colleagues in local mental health services undertake their responsibilities within the Transforming Care approach.You should be able to demonstrate experience of, positive partnership working.You will work alongside partners such as: Local mental health inpatient areas, Local CMHTs and ALDTs, NHS East of England Provider Collaborative, People who have a Learning Disability and / or, who have Autism, Carers, Families and Children's Services.
