Principal Clinical Psychologist CAMHS / CDC Link Clinical Team Lead

This is an unusual opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to take up a new, key leadership position in Bedfordshire & Luton CAMHS/Child Development Centre. We are looking for a senior clinician to provide clinical leadership, working alongside Mental Health and Paediatric Clinical Leads, setting up a new Neurodevelopmental Link Team.
East London Foundation Trust is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission and we are looking for someone who will drive this new initiative to these same standards. The successful candidate will have a crucial role in designing this new team in conjunction with service users, team members and senior leaders, establishing more integrated partner agency working. The role will be varied, allowing for opportunities to work creatively and strategically in developing the service, as well as holding a small clinical case load and supporting others in effective clinical work through supervision, consultation etc.
Senior colleagues from the CDC and CAMHS are excited about this new role and will be keen to support the successful candidate and work collaboratively towards the success of the new provision.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Clinical psychologist who will be responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of care and services for children and young people with mental health problems and their families. This will involve a review and redevelopment of the new pathway in light of continual service developments in the wider service. Working in partnership with the General Managers of both CAMHS and the CDC, you will provide inspirational leadership of multidisciplinary clinicians to ensure effective, evidence-based assessment and treatment for Neuro-developmental disorders (as well as other mental health conditions where this is impacting on their engagement), accessible care pathways and a culture of continuous quality improvement. You will need to be an imaginative and strategic thinker, creative and determined in your approach and exceptional in your ability to lead and influence others.
About us
The CAMHS neurodevelopmental team provides evidence based assessment and intervention for children with learning disability, ADHD and/or ASD who are experiencing associated mental health difficulties. The CDCs offer a wide range of assessments and treatments for various childhood disorders. Working in a diverse area, you will be someone who can contribute fully to the clinical, professional, strategic and partnership agenda of the service. The role includes undertaking and coordinating ADOS and ADI-R assessments. As a member of the senior management team, you will ensure that there is a clear leadership and management structure for this multi-disciplinary team working with cases that cross the divide between CAMHS and CDC responsibility.
