Job summary
We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Senior Community Nurse, Band 6 to join our Unplanned Care/Night Team. This highly respected team delivers responsive, high quality nursing to patients in their own homes out of hours. We are passionate about patient centered care, support our nurses to lead and deliver excellent and compassionate nursing and value our clinical teams as the real heart of the NHS. You will be a strong leader, focused on achieving real improvements in outcomes for patients and will be confident in your ability to support, coach and develop individuals to deliver consistently high quality services. You will take pride in your work and be highly motivated and dynamic, have a flexible approach and be able to embrace change. Being a collaborative worker and the ability to network and build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders is essential.
The Unplanned Care/Night Team operates between 20:00 and 08:00 hours, completing 12-hour shifts weekends, evenings and bank holidays will be included. There is an expectation that someday shifts may be required to complete mandatory training other essential team requirements. The team covers the whole Bedfordshire area and there is an expectation that team members cover all areas.
Access to a car in order to carry out service duties is essential.

Main duties of the job
- The post holder is responsible for the management of a team of skilled health care workers.
- The post holder is responsible for the provision of health education for patients and carers so that optimum enablement and care can be delivered.
- The post holder is responsible in conjunction with the Team Leader for the education, support and development of staff including implementation of the appraisal and supervision processes.
- The post holder will participate in conjunction with the senior management team in the strategic planning and development of services provided in the defined neighbourhood.
