Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within our in-patient wards for enthusiastic and innovative Band 6 - Clinical Practice Leads (substantive and potentially fixed term) to join our busy and motivated team at Forensic Service within the forensic services. This role will cover all areas of our service including learning disability both low and medium secure services, specialist autism, acute mental health, women services & HDU.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be enthusiastic, forward thinking and have a keen interest in working with patients being nursed in acute mental health wards. Our expectation is that you will be highly motivated and dynamic and able to demonstrate quality therapeutic interactions with service users.
You will work closely with members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to offer recovery focused individual and group work with patients with a wide range of needs.

Main duties of the job
The Clinical Practice Lead (Band 6 nurse) would be ward-based with a primary focus on ensuring robust systems of clinical care and service delivery is maintained.
They will support the functions of the Clinical Nurse Managers and Modern Matrons through providing direct clinical work on a shift by shift basis, undertaking and supporting governance and assurance systems through the use of clinical audit, role modelling and clinical supervision. You will be expected to lead on managing complex situations that may arise and being mindful of internal processes for escalation for further support if indicated.
Additionally, you may be required to support the Duty Senior Nurse rota and will be responsible for managing the response to urgent situations that may arise, coordination of resources across all the sites, and effective bed management.
