East London Foundation Trust are pleased to offer the opportunity for a locum (6 months) Psychologist to join us in our transforming mental health services in City and Hackney. The borough was an early-implementer site for the Community Mental Health Transformation of mental health services. We established eight separate Neighbourhood Teams which are intended to offer a place-based service responsive to local needs. A Neighbourhood Recovery Service has also been established, which offers a more intensive multidisciplinary level of mental health care to service users who need a care co-ordinated level of support. The Neighbourhood Recovery Service works closely with the Neighbourhood Teams, and service users can be 'stepped up' and 'stepped down' from one level of support to another depending on their needs.You will work as part of the Neighbourhood Recovery Service Psychology Team. We are embedded within the Neighbourhood Recovery Service (NRS), a multidisciplinary team which was formed out of the former Recovery CMHTs in the borough. We provide the full range of direct and indirect psychology roles to the NRS. We are also one of the psychological therapy teams offering consultation and accepting referrals from the Neighbourhood Teams.The post-holder will provide specialist evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for people with a range of complex mental health needs, including psychosis and bipolar affective disorder.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention for service users under the care of the City and Hackney Neighbourhood Recovery Service and Neighbourhood Teams.Be involved in quality improvement, service development, evaluation and research.To develop and support the psychosocial work of other staff through teaching, training, supervision and consultation.You will need to be self-motivated, clinically up to date with proven experience of undertaking and interventions in secondary care settings.

Training & Qualifications
Essential
- Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) or Counselling Psychology (or equivalent for those trained prior to 2000)
- Models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, three or more supervised clinical placements (including lifespan developmental psychology and mental health specialisms) and research skills (as accredited by BPS).
- Formal training in supervision of trainees.
- Breakaway Training.
Desirable
- Pre-qualification training and qualification in research methodology, staff training and/or other fields of applied psychology.
- Relevant specialist training or qualifications.
Experience

- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups across the whole life course and presenting problems which reflect the full range of clinical severity.
- Further specialist experience through having received a minimum of 50 hours clinical supervision of working as a specialist clinical or counselling psychologist over a minimum of two years, or an alternative agreed by the Head of Psychotherapy and Psychology.
