We have an exciting opportunity for you at Bedfordshire CAMHS within our new Primary Care Access Service (PCAS). This is a part of our wider CAMHS Access Services (CAS) delivering care to their most accessible points in the community and integrated with other partner agencies.You will provide triage, mental health assessments, effective brief therapeutic support, group work and workshops to prevent moderate to severe mental health problems developing, using the iThrive model.
Main duties of the job
You will also help develop and deliver mental health training, continuing support and consultation for primary care settings across North Bedfordshire, mainly being GP Practices. Bedfordshire has a diverse and vibrant community, which will require candidates to show an awareness of, and interest in, supporting these communities, and to deliver evidence based and innovative care to suit the needs of the local communities.
You will work closely with GP Practices and other appropriate settings to encourage and help them develop a whole family approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health. You will work within a community hub locality, and will contribute to an exciting wider children's services transformation programme integrating care across children's services, which includes Early Help, Children's Health, other Local Authority sectors, and Voluntary services.

About us
This post is based in Bedford Town Centre, Bedfordshire, close to the M1 and easily reached by car / train from London, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire to the South and Northamptonshire to the North. All clinicians are supported by very dedicated and efficient administrative staff. Most of the work will be community based in GP practices, although there will also be some office based and home working.

- Knowledge of child and adolescent development and mental health.
