Job summary

Would you like to manage a team, and be part of an exciting development that is taking place within our Dunstable community, within a new modern integrated health and social care hub? You will take a lead role within The Dunstable Community Mental Health Service (previously known as the CMHT). This brand new development will be a 'one stop' hub where people can access high-quality care and services close to where they live making it accessible, convenient and easier for local residents to use. It will bring a mix of health and care professionals in a single location to promote more joined-up working between the NHS, the council, voluntary and community sectors.

There are many other development opportunities that you will have access to. If you are looking to be innovative, a team player and want to be part of a supportive, progressive and effective team, then this will be the post for you. This role is available to existing Band 7's and Band 6's also who wish to progress in their career.

We value you and we are interested in what you want from your career, to grow and develop for your continuing professional development and we will work closely with you to focus on and to tailor your individual needs as a nurse or social worker professional. We want to explore options for your personal development and to expand your therapeutic skill set and managerial skills.

Main duties of the job

As the Deputy Manager for the team you will be responsible for the day to day management and leadership of the team, working with the Operational Manager to ensure safe and effective implementation of service developments relevant to the team. You will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective management of all operations in the team, managing the core team responsibilities and trouble shooting operational problems.

As well as the day to day leadership of the team, you will also be responsible for supporting clinical staff to take complex decisions regarding the planning and development of programmes of care.

About us

As this new hub opens, we have decided to embrace this opportunity and to completely relocate the Dunstable CMHT into this new hub. The former site of Dunstable CMHT will be closed and all services will relocate to this Hub and go live on Thursday 1st June 2023. You will work closely with various other services such as GP Practices, the local authority adult social care, substance misuse and children's services to name but a few. You will be joining the team at the very beginning of this exciting development and be able to play a key role as the service develops. Please feel free to contact Paul Wrake the Service Manager, if you wish to come and see the site for yourself before applying.
