Job summary

At Newham Talking Therapies we aim to ensure that we deliver the care and treatment that we would want for our loved ones. To meet this aim we are looking for practitioners who are passionate about delivering effective and responsive therapies.

We can only provide residents the tools to change their lives by having effective staff! Newham Talking Therapies can offer to help you develop and cultivate your clinical knowledge. Newham is a wonderfully diverse borough that offers practitioners so much wealth in terms of learning from our residents.

So who are we?

We are where IAPT begun! Newham Talking Therapies was the first NHS IAPT pilot site which from our service led to the national role of IAPT, one of the world's largest mental health projects. We are also one of the longest running and clinically effective IAPT services in the country.

Working as part of Newham Talking Therapies offers numerous opportunities for learning and development through strong team support and clinical supervision, and being part of an evolving, integrating team. We pride ourselves on being innovators in best practice and a service that is always looking to enhance our provision to our residents.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work at the established Newham Talking Therapies a nationally recognised centre of clinical excellence. Working as part of Newham Talking Therapies offers numerous opportunities for learning and development through strong team support and clinical supervision and being part of an evolving, integrating team. The service has expanded its workshops programs, therefore offering the chance to develop group skills and work alongside colleagues to deliver innovative treatment programs. A keen interest or prior experience in delivering therapy in a group format would be necessary. Due to diverse populations in Newham, this is a unique opportunity to work with clients from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.

The post holder would look to enable increased access to a range of psychological workshops for all adults in Newham. You will deliver a broad scope of large psycho-educational groups within various community settings thus increasing access to evidence based psychological interventions across Newham's community. The post holder will also focus on building community relationships through promotional and outreach work.

About us

Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations
