Job summary
An exciting opportunity has become available within the adult Community Eating Disorders Service for a General Practitioner with Specialist Interest in Eating Disorders for 22.5 hours a week.
The post holder will work in collaboration with other members of the Eating Disorders Service to provide assessment and outpatient treatment for patients aged >18 with an eating disorder. The post holder will provide medical assessment and monitoring for patients referred to the service and will advise the patients own GP in relation to medical interventions.
The post holder will work to the services policies and will supervise, manage and support the work of less experienced team members and trainees. This post primarily involves medical assessment, assessment and monitoring of medical risk, and medical monitoring but will also involve consultancy to a range of staff in primary care and mental health services; teaching and training; and contributing to service audit/evaluation. This role requires that you work a Tuesday or at least the afternoon for key clinical meetings and preferably a Monday as well as part of the .6 WTE.
Main duties of the job
- To provide an assessment of physical risk as part of the CEDS multi-disciplinary assessment team. This will include arranging and interpreting appropriate investigations (e.g. blood tests).
- To contribute to multidisciplinary assessments, care planning, clinical reports and referral to Page 5 of 11 other appropriate agencies/services.
- To provide assessment feedback to patients and appropriate professionals.
