Job summary
A fantastic opportunity (0.6 FTE/ FTC contract until end March 2023) has arisen for an enthusiastic occupational therapist looking to contribute and develop specialist skills and knowledge in the new and emerging area of Post Covid Fatigue (PCF). The post holder will join the newly developed PCF arm of the well-established Bedfordshire Chronic Fatigue Service (CFS). The post holder will work alongside other specialists professionals, including Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and Psychology. The service provides specialist MDT assessment and treatment for those PCF patients whose main symptoms are moderate to severe and those with more complex presentations. The service works in collaboration with the wider Post Covid pathway across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. This post offers an opportunity to join an effective and creative team. The service professionals are active contributors to national special interest networks and working on developing the evidence base in PCF treatment. The role would has a base at Mountbatten House in Dunstable, with an aim to establish clinics across the county. The post holder will be well supported by colleagues within the specialist service and connected to other OTs working across BCHS.

Main duties of the job
To be a Specialist Occupational Therapist within a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing
a high standard of assessment, advice and treatment to clients referred to the Post COVID Fatigue
Service. To work with clients towards rehabilitation, self-management, increased independence
and a better quality of life.
To work as part of a multi professional service, working with patient towards self-management and
independence throughout the continuum of care, to improve their outcomes.
To hold responsibility for own caseload under supervision and to provide specialist consultation and
education to community colleagues in the field of fatigue management.
To work as an autonomous professional according to the Health Professions Council's regulations.
However the post holder will have the opportunity to receive supervision and support from
experienced and specialist clinicians to grow your own knowledge and expertise.
