Job summary
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated HCPC - registered clinical / counselling psychologist or BAPC registered CBT Therapist, with experience in delivering Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp), to work within the Tower Hamlets Early Intervention (THEIS) and Tower Hamlets Early Detection (THEDS) services.
Tower Hamlets Early Intervention Service (THEIS) an early intervention in psychosis service for adults aged 18-65 years old from a range of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, experiencing first onset in psychosis. THEIS is an expanding multi-disciplinary team; we provide a range of psychosocial interventions working within the care programme approach framework in collaboration with service users, carers and other relevant agencies. The interventions are offered in individual, group and family contexts, and commonly require an assertive outreach approach. In 2022, THEIS will become an ageless service, assessing and working with people aged 35+ who have first episode of psychosis. This is an exciting time to join the service with opportunities for service development work.
THEIS works closely with the Tower Hamlets Early Detection Service, for service users aged 16 - 25 at high risk of developing psychosis. THEIS and THEDS operate under the same management structure, and the psychology team works flexibly across THEIS and THEDS, and across community and inpatient settings. Both teams are based in the same office.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will:
Provide specialist assessment, formulation and evidence-based intervention for early detection and early intervention, including CBT for psychosis and family interventions
Be involved in quality improvement, service development, evaluation and research
To develop and support the psychosocial work of other staff through teaching, training, supervision and consultation
Work across both community and inpatient settings, providing psychological input to THEIS service users on inpatient wards
