Job summary
The Foot Health Service for Newham is based at the University of East London, Stratford Campus. We are recruiting to Band 7 Highly Specialist Podiatrists, full-time and part-time. We welcome applications from NHS and non-NHS podiatrists.
Contracts: 1.0 wte, Permanent Full-Time or Part-Time. Our working day is 0900 to 1700.
You will be seeking a role as a Highly Specialist Podiatrist where you can use and develop your skills and knowledge across the full range of our services. You are self-motivated and motivated by others to provide excellent patient-centred care, and are looking for an opportunity to further develop your career and lead on areas of our service.
You are enthusiastic to work in hospital and community outpatient clinics, including the Diabetes Multidisciplinary Team and be in the Foot Protection Team. You will interact with a wide range of health professionals and clinical specialties working with our service. Our patients reflect the diversity of communities and their health needs in the Borough.
Main duties of the job
We focus on a short-term treatment planning approach to manage patient care and maximise patient input into their care, to enable us to effectively and efficiently manage caseloads.
The Foot Health Service is currently delivered across 4 sites and your base will be at Stratford.
You will enjoy working in a variety of clinics and settings each week where you are given the opportunity to use your skills and experience in chronic long-term conditions, musculoskeletal conditions, podopaediatrics and nail surgery. We will help you identify your knowledge, skills and developmental needs, which will become part of your annual training plan.
You will use your clinical and management experience and skills to supervise staff and podiatry, medical and nursing students, and receive clinical and management supervision.
You will want to be an active team member, eager to offer your ideas and thoughts to plan the service and promote quality initiatives.
