Job summary
Fountains Court is a 26 bedded Older People's Assessment Unit in Bedford providing high quality person centred care to individuals with both functional and organic mental health needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Registered Mental Health Nurse with a passion and keen interest in the care of Older People to join our welcoming and supportive team.
You will form an integral part of the MDT and be responsible for supporting the management team and unregistered staff by having an active role in developing, monitoring and maintaining care standards through role modelling, clear decision making and demonstrating your highly developed clinical skills.

Main duties of the job
To provide clinical leadership and management to a team of nursing staff within an older adult mental health care environment.
To provide assistance to the Clinical Nurse Manager and Matron in the development of clinical practice and evidence based practice.
To provide high standards of patient care and improve quality of care at ward level by applying principles of clinical governance.
To work collaboratively with nurse management on the ward and the MDT to promote continuous quality improvement and a high performance culture.
Assess, implement and review care plans and evaluate outcomes provided to clientgroup.
Formulate care plans to meet the need of the individual patient in discussion with other professionals as well as the patient/ carer/ advocate. Support the patient to maintain their personal identity, dignity and privacy. Involve patients and carers in the planning and delivery of care and treatment on the ward.
Maintain daily and accurate documentation, ensuring care plans are up to date, accurate and pertinent to the patients, including meeting their cultural and spiritual needs
