Assistant Psychologist

AfC Band 5 Fixed term 12 months (possibility of extension)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Neurodevelopmental Team at City and Hackney Specialist CAMHS. City and Hackney Specialist CAMHS is a busy, forward thinking and thriving CAMHS service with high staff morale and excellent CPD opportunities.

The clinician will join a large, experienced multi-disciplinary team of clinicians who provide a range of diagnostic and mental health services to children young people and their families with neurodevelopmental disorders. The post holder will contribute, under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, to the provision of clinical psychology services to children and young people in City and Hackney with neurodevelopmental difficulties. The post holder will be involved to collecting clinical information as part of a multidisciplinary assessment for neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. ADHD and ASD) for children and young people without a learning disability. This may include contacting schools, completing screening questionnaires, carrying out school observations and joining clinic appointments with other members of the multi- disciplinary team. There will also be opportunities to carry out brief interventions with young people and parents and to co-facilitate clinical groups within the pathway.

Main duties of the job

The team has a number of active audit and Quality Improvement projects running. The Assistant Psychologist will be involved in maintaining databases and supporting the team in these projects.
