Job summary

A fantastic opportunity (0.8 WTE for a minimum 12month FTC contract) has arisen for an enthusiastic physiotherapist looking to contribute and develop specialist skills and knowledge in the new and emerging area of Post Covid Fatigue. The post holder will join our newly developed Post Covid Fatigue arm of the well-established Bedfordshire Chronic Fatigue Service (CFS). The post holder will work within the Post Covid clinic, alongside other specialists professional, including Occupational therapy, Physiotherapy and Psychology. The service provides specialist MDT assessment and treatment for those Post Covid and Chronic Fatigue patients whose main symptom is moderate/severe fatigue and those with more complex presentations. The service works in collaboration with the wider Post Covid & Chronic Fatigue pathways across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes. The post offers a varied role, with both direct patient work and training to our community services colleagues. This post offers an individual opportunity to join an effective and creative team. The service professionals are active contributors to national special interest networks and working on developing the evidence base in Post Covid & Chronic Fatigue treatment.

Main duties of the job

The Post Covid Fatigue Service works in partnership with the Chronic Fatigue Service. The role would have a base at Mountbatten House in Dunstable, with aim to establish clinics across the county. The post holder will be well supported by colleagues within the specialist service and connected to other Physiotherapist working across BCHS. The service sits within a broader vibrant team of other clinical health psychologists/therapists working across Bedfordshire and Luton and the acute hospital sites.   • Broad range of clinical experience as a student and at junior level
  • Supervision experience
  • Willing to give presentations/lead teaching sessions for colleagues
  • IT Skills (word, e-mail, excel, internet)

  • Experience of working within the NHS as a physiotherapist

Knowledge and Skills

  • Detailed understanding of a wide range of medical conditions.
