The Mental Health Street Triage service (MHST) is seeking a new Band 7 team member!
MHST resulted from collaboration between Bedfordshire Police and East London NHS Foundation trust. It is aimed at providing an all-inclusive service to people who may be experiencing mental ill health and come into contact with the police. The MHST are committed to provide a high quality, professional and effective range of appropriate interventions with all people that they come into contact with as part of this role.
The successful candidate will become a Senior mental health professional who will collaborate with Bedfordshire Police officers and East of England ambulance service. They will be expected to be able to offer comprehensive assessments of clients mental health needs and devise effective treatment/management plans. Multi-agency working and signposting is key to this role.
This is service operates 7 days a week and the working hours for this post are 12pm till 12midnight daily.

Main duties of the job
This is primarily a clinical position involving the assessment of the mental health needs for clients that come in contact with Bedfordshire Police (see details below). The post holder should be able to work autonomously and must demonstrate a high level of expertise as a mental health practitioner.
The post holder will be expected to maintain high standards of care and comply with all policies and guidelines as per ELFT standards together with those of their professional body.
You will share your enhanced level mental health knowledge and skills including the social and physical factors that may impact upon people's mental health. You will be expected to provide teaching to Police, Ambulance and other allied health professional staff, both in formal and informal settings including pre-registration students.
