A 1.0 full-time equivalent CAMHS Highly Specialist Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Systemic Family Psychotherapist, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, Band 8A, 2-year fixed term contract, with a Doctoral or equivalent degree and HCPC or UKCP Registered, Luton Youth Partnership Service, part of the community-based ELFT CAMH Services:
We have valuable opportunity for you to shape and develop the senior specialist mental health contribution to our newly created and aspirational Youth Partnership Service (YPS). The YPS is a dynamic and innovative partnership which includes youth justice, targeted youth, edge of care and specialist education officers, health and mental health practitioners working together to meet the contextual safeguarding needs of children and young people in Luton.
The post is a partnership between ELFT CAMH Services and Luton Borough Council. The post holder will be a key member of the Youth Partnership Service, and located substantially with the service, providing specialist mental health clinical expertise by consultation, training, supervision, reflective practice, and supporting other team members in their delivery, other relevant agencies, as well as delivering highly specialist mental health assessment, contextualised formulation and treatment for young people and their families aged 11-17 years.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have close links ELFT CAMH Specialist Services and specifically the Emotional and Behavioural Team, spending a portion of their time in CAMHS to foster substantial partnership working across the agencies for the benefit of the young people and their families, including for those already receiving a CAMH service, or those who are identified as requiring this beyond the remit or capacity of the post holder's role.
The development of the Youth Partnership Service is a key element of the overall Luton Council Children's Transformation Programme. A whole family and contextual safeguarding approach will be employed and will be achieved by joint working arrangements and close partnership with the range of services available to families including the Early Help offer. The aspirational model of practice is based on a resilience, systems and trauma-informed approach to family working and compliments the current Strengthening Families and Family Safeguarding Model in Luton Borough Council as well as ELFT CAMH Services resilience approach to early mental health support and intervention.
