Job summary

East London NHS Foundation Trust currently provides mental health and learning disability services in Luton and Bedfordshire.

Coral Ward is a 26-bedded in-patient unit caring for service users of adult working age (18-65 years old) who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and need to be nursed in a 24/7 staffed care environment. Coral Ward admits and cares for service users who are informally admitted and also those detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) amended 2007.

We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Band 7 Clinical Nurse Manager at Coral Ward. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience working as a Clinical Practice Lead/Charge Nurse or in a similar role - who can join us to deliver safe and effective inpatient services that aim to embrace recovery by working in partnership with service users and their carers.

We would be like to hear from you if you are interested to gain experience in managing an acute adult inpatient setting in Coral Ward. Our services aim to provide a high standard of treatment and care in a safe and therapeutic setting for service users in the acute and vulnerable stage of their illness.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Nurse Manager role is pivotal in delivering safe, effectiveness and service excellence within the team dynamic.

Coral Ward is recently AIMS accredited inpatient service (July 2020) that also received and achieved feedback that was rated Outstanding by the CQC in 2019.

To co-ordinate and provide care and treatment to an identified group of patients without direct supervision. In addition, supporting junior staff in delivery of care provision.To manage and organise work as required.Take responsibility for the development and delivery of evidence based practice for service users with complex needs, ensuring that it supports and reflects service user individual needs, Trust objectives and professional guidance.Promotes evidence based practice and embeds QI.Postholder will be responsible for high quality care provision with highly complex service users and groups.Contribute towards ensuring that the ward functions as an integral part of the Directorate's services.
