Clinical Fellow in Community Paediatrics

We are seeking an enthusiastic Paediatrician with a special interest in Safeguarding and LAC to join our innovative and forward-thinking Community Paediatric team in Newham, East London.
The Specialist Children and Young People's Services (SCYPS) at East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) are currently advertising for a fixed-term post as a Clinical Fellow in Community Paediatrics. This is available to start as soon as possible for 6 months (extendable to 12 months on negotiation) as full time for a maximum of 10 programmed activities, but applicants looking to work less than full time should also be encouraged to apply.
This post would be suitable for Paediatric doctors who are looking for an Out-of-Programme post, or recently gained CCT and are seeking further clinical experience before taking up a permanent consultant post in Community Paediatrics, or for SAS doctors looking for 6-12 months' clinical experience in Community Paediatrics in preparation for applying for CESR, or for other Paediatric doctors looking for additional training experience in Community Child Health and Safeguarding.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience and competencies in Community Paediatrics, particularly Social Paediatrics. The post-holder will be expected to undertake Safeguarding and Child Protection Medical Assessment clinics, Health Assessment clinics for Looked After Children and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and young people (UASC). There will also be the opportunity to join to observe in local Child Sexual Abuse clinics and supervision for Quality Improvement for Safeguarding and Child Protection. As matched to the post-holder's career goals, the post-holder can also undertake Child Development Clinics and consolidate key skills for becoming a well-rounded, professionally curious and innovative Paediatrician.
