Main duties of the job
Arts Therapies are a dynamic growing workforce across all of ELFT CAMHS with over 30 clinicians across all arts modalities contributing to all our care pathways. This exciting new senior leadership role builds on the excellent feedback we have had from our young people on their access and involvement in arts therapies. Our partnership working with them to co-produce interventions and our collaboration with our local communities to embed arts therapies practice in local creative settings is essential to our vision for inclusion. The successful post holder will join a dynamic arts therapies leadership group ELFT. We value the central role of creativity in everything we aim to achieve to support our service users and staff.
About us
This post will deliver Arts Therapies service within Luton and Dunstable CAMHS and will be based within Emotional and Behavioral Team (E&B) in Luton. The post holder will offer a flexible, evidence-based care, assessments and interventions, including collaborative group-work and consultation to other clinical pathways (i.e. Neurodevelopmental Team; Eating Disorders Team; Adolescent Mental Health Team; etc) within South Beds.

Job responsibilities
This senior role will also have designated input into supporting wider clinical supervision for CAMHS Arts Therapists. The post-holder will work with the Professional Lead for Arts Therapies in CAMHS to develop the discipline across South Beds.
The post holder will contribute with the co-ordination and development of Luton CAMHS service wide Arts Therapies trainee cohort intake and programme. They will provide specialist training across the Trust CAMHS services promoting the development of recovery focused Arts therapies practice including co-produced approaches with experts through experience and our partnership work with arts and culture organisations.
The post holder will work with the Professional Lead for Arts Therapies in Children and Young People to deliver this work and will attend monthly senior Arts Therapists meeting.
The post holder will work collaboratively. They will be responsible for the management and supervision of junior staff, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care provided and effective liaison with all agencies involved with the service user and their families/carers.
The post holder will join a Trust with an amazing track record of arts therapies development, research and support. ELFT have over 75 arts therapists contributing into all of our care pathways. There are excellent opportunities for support including a specific Trust wide arts therapies CPD programme and supervision support.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Music therapist, Art therapist/Art Psychotherapist or Drama therapist For Dance Movement Psychotherapists Registration with ADMP UK
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent, or have a demonstrable experience of senior professional, clinical and management
- A demonstrable record of continuing professional development and relevant post graduate qualification or training in specialist knowledge and skills

- Clinical Supervision Training
- Previous experience of working in CAMHS
- Experience of working in community CAMHS and working within a multi-agency network

- Ability to work with trauma and contain emotional impact through clinical supervision and team support systems
- Ability to assess risk and be able to work face to face with acutely unwell service users
