We are looking for a qualified NURSE, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST or SOCIAL WORKER to work in this exciting psychological role.

Psychological services in the Borough deliver a highly regarded service to a number of primary, secondary and tertiary care settings. The service is characterised by reflective practice, service development and its commitment to supervision, support and CPD.
Secondary Care Psychological Services are in Step 4 aiming to meet the psychological needs of users of adult mental health services who have complex and severe mental health problems. The service aims to lead in creating a psychologically literate workforce across services in the London Borough of Newham and to bring a psychological perspective to the work of individuals, teams and systems. It focuses both on evidence-based clinical excellence and developing practice-based evidence relevant to meeting the needs of a very diverse population.
Main duties of the job
Undertake clinically supervised psychosocial assessment and NICE recommended psychological interventions with clients on a one-to-one basis, and in groups within the context of NICE Guidelines for Schizophrenia and Bipolar Effective Disorder Implementation.
Undertake behavioral interventions with families of service users, in their homes and in the team base, aimed to promote effective communication and improve problem solving.
Support the psychosocial work of others and provide specialist advice, within competence, concerning the psychosocial assessment and treatment of clients.
Undertake formal training in NICE recommended psychological therapies in line with a developing therapist role.
Be actively involved in service evaluation.
Interface effectively with statutory and community organisations.
Provide a service that promotes recovery, identifies people's choices, needs and strengths, is user centered and holistic, and promotes safety and positive risk taking.
Ensure the service provided is of the best quality and of a standard of professional practice and cultural sensitivity to meet the needs of Newham's diverse community, and is compliant with Trust policies and procedures.
Participate in CPD and other developmental activities, keeping up to date with relevant research and national guidance (DoH, NICE etc).
