Job summary
You will be responsible for supporting the flow of patients within Bedfordshire and Luton In-Patient Services as well as acting as the system lead and point of contact for Acute Hospitals in relation to mental health patients within the acute hospitals. You will work with Community Mental Health Teams to support discharge in a timely manner and escalate across partners where appropriate to maintain flow across the system.

Patient Flow Manager - 12 month opportunity
We are currently looking to recruit a confident manager with demonstrable operational experience to lead on managing the interface between the acute hospitals, our mental health teams and providers across Bedfordshire and Luton. The successful applicant will have excellent organisational skills, be accessible, responsive, able to have good and effective relationships with all of our partners and support the flow of patients across a busy system whilst ensuring safe care at all times.
The key operational tasks are;
To attend daily system bed management meetings
To manage the transfer list from BH and L and D Hospital on a daily basis
To liaise with Community MH Teams regarding patient flow matters and to escalate where appropriate
To have a good knowledge of bed capacity and to lead on Patient Flow meetings as required
To line manage Discharge Co-ordinator
