Job summary

Would you like to work with a highly enthusiastic and forward-thinking Community Child Health team in an interesting area of London?

The Specialist Children and Young People's Services (SCYPS) at East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) are currently advertising for 2 fixed-term posts to start as soon as possible for 6 months (extendable to 12 months). Both posts are for Clinical Fellows in Community Paediatrics, and are for full-time for a maximum of 10 programmed activities. Applicants looking to work less than full time should also apply.

This post would be suitable for Paediatric doctors who have either gained CCT and are seeking further clinical experience before taking up a permanent consultant post in Community Paediatrics, or for specialty doctors looking for 6-12 months clinical experience in Community Paediatrics in preparation for applying for CESR, or for other Paediatric doctors looking for additional training experience in Community Child Health.

The successful applicants will have the opportunity to participate in a range of consultant-led clinics and develop clinical skills in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics, Neurodisability and Social Paediatrics, as matched to the experience and training needs of the post-holders as much as possible. There will also be the opportunity to develop other key skills for becoming a well-rounded, professionally curious and innovative Community Paediatrician.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be expected to work within the multidisciplinary team of community paediatricians, nurses and allied health professionals to provide a comprehensive community paediatric service to the population of Newham. The post-holder will be supervised by one of the consultants and teaching will be provided within the department as part of developing individuals and as a team.
