Family Therapist
Band 7 full-time fixed-term post - initially 12 month contract
(37.5 hours per week)
Child and adolescent mental health services in Tower Hamlets are outstanding and adapting to new and innovative ways of working. We are a busy service with high levels of demand and we want the very best services for our children and young people.
The service embraces continual improvement and the staff and management team have a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement. The Emotional and Behavioral Multi-disciplinary Team assesses and treats a wide variety of different presentations. The team aims to offer an accessible, flexible, timely and responsive CAMHS input to children, young people and their families, and their referrers.
Main duties of the job
You will work in a way that flexibly combines working in the office and from other sites in the community, and from home. You will be part of an Emotional and Behavioural Multi-disciplinary Team offering goal based episodes of care to young people, children and families presenting with a variety of challenges. You will also contribute to the duty rota.

This is a community-based post, located within the Emotional & Behavioural Team in Tower Hamlets CAMHS offering flexible, evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatments to a wide variety of clinical presentations.

The post-holder will assist in innovative developments in managing wait times, triage, self-referrals and drop-in.

Essential
- Family Therapy qualification
- Qualification in appropriate mental health/social welfare profession such as Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Nursing or Counselling
- Masters or Doctoral level qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFT agreed equivalent
- UKCP Registered
Experience
Essential
- Previous experience of working in CAMHS
- Experience of working with a wide range of CAMHS problems
- Experience of care planning
- Experience in urgent/emergency assessments.
Skills and Abilities

- Evidence of well developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS
- Skilled in emergency and crisis assessments
- Specialist clinical skills within in specific therapeutic modalities
- Teaching skills, both in clinical setting and education centres
- Able to work effectively across organisational boundaries
