Job summary

Are you interested in working in an inpatient mental health setting and taking on a leadership role with a well-established OT Service and MDT? If so, we have the post for you! A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our acute mental health service within Luton and Bedfordshire.

We are a dynamic and forward thinking team that actively encourages and supports professional and service development. This post involves providing clinical leadership to the inpatient OT service and supporting the Head OT with the daily running of services. Candidates would need to demonstrate sound clinical and leadership skills, work autonomously as well as part of a team and have good workload management skills.

This posts time is primarily allocated to one ward for three days per week; working closely with an occupational therapy assistant, delivering specialist one-to-one assessments and interventions drawn from the Model of Human Occupation, working with the wider MDT and liaising with recovery services. The additional two days a week allocated to professional management of the inpatient OT team and taking on a leadership role within the service, deputising for the Head OT as needed, and to actively contribute to service development.

Main duties of the job

Regular managerial and professional supervision will be provided. We actively encourage personalized training opportunities through the appraisal process as well as offer monthly opportunities to participate in service-wide CPD events and banded Development programs.
