Job summary

Tower Hamlets is looking to recruit a highly motivated NMC or Allied Health staff to an Operational Lead Band 8A (0.6wte) to manage the specialist Accommodation Strategy Team.

The team will work across the 4 neighbourhood teams with a focus on specialist out of borough funded clients and placements. This will be in close collaboration with the CCG, LBTH and neighbourhood mental health teams.

The post will be for a secondment period of 12 months. We will be ideally looking for a candidate who was able to start as soon as possible.

Candidates should have an experience in management and an interest in working with severe and enduring mental illness and high comorbidity, with clients from a range of religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The post holder will be expected to work alongside other professionals from varying disciplines. The successful applicant must have experience of working in mental health (ward or community).

The post involves close working with the GPs, other partners, inpatient and community teams. This will also involve working with clients with varying severe and enduring mental illness with dual diagnosis, supporting community teams with required assessments (where indicated) and interventions.

Main duties of the job

The Operational Lead will receive professional supervision and line management from the Senior Operational Lead. The Operational lead works with the ELFT senior operational lead and LBTH service manager for adult social care to provide a consistent, high quality service which is recovery focused, and sensitive to the needs of a diverse community with responsibility for ensuring service delivery is of a consistently high standard and assisting the team in meeting these standards.

The post holder will form part of a small team who undertake care act assessments, placement reviews and develop move-on plans, ensuring that appropriate recommendations are made for the management of each individual placed in a residential setting. This will include assessment of new and existing individuals.

The post holder will deliver a programme of work to agreed targets, reporting to a range of stakeholders.

The Operational Lead will have responsibility for providing supervision to key Team Members and assessment of complex individuals within the residential settings. This role requires oversight of programme delivery including the development and management of a suite of programme management documents that includes monthly submissions to key stakeholders including: commissioners, LBTH, and ELFT senior management.
