Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist -Band 7
Full time/part time minimum 35 hours per week - I year maternity cover
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with CAMHSexperience to come and work in the socially and culturally diverse borough of City and Hackney. Applicants who have experience and appreciation of some of the richness and complexities of working inter-culturally are welcomed.This post would be an ideal position for a newly qualified CPT who wants to work in a community setting and gain post qualification experience.
Main duties of the job
London NHS Foundation Trust and as part of the wider Hackney CAMHS Alliance. This post will include the provision of specialist CAMHS advice/consultation and mental health assessment, family interventions and liaison with other agencies.
The successful candidate will be part of a stimulating and supportive multidisciplinary Emotional and Behavioural team (E&B) for 8sessions.There is a strong commitment to clinical supervision and professional development within CAMHS and the wider NHS Foundation Trust including many learning and teaching opportunities. The CPT team meet regularly for CPD and run a monthly workshop to the wider service and are part of a strong Trust wide CPT network.
The role will be varied and will include managing a caseload within the multi-disciplinary E&B Team in order to provide brief treatment and psychoanalyticpsychotherapy for often co-occurring emotional and behavioural difficulties. The team values consultation, liaison with professional networks and formulation within a systemic and community context.

- Experience of working as a child psychotherapist with children and young people with mental health problems in CAMHS.
- Experience of multi-agency working with specialties relevant to specialist CAMHS.

Education/ Qualification/ Training
Essential
- A professional qualification in Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy recognised by the Association of Child Psychotherapy
- Masters or Doctoral level training in Child Psychotherapy including the completion of a 2 year PGDip in Observational Studies and a training psycho-analysis.
- Evidence of continued professional development and fulfillment of the CPD requirements of the ACP.

- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issues and the ability to integrate into employment policies and practices.
- Understanding of current NHS/Social Care policies/practices relating to Mental Health and Services and understands the Child Protection Policy.
