We are part of the Capital Nurse Project of the NHSEI that recruits internationally trained nurses. There is a need to provide sound, dedicated and timeless pastoral support for the international nurses. Therefore, we need a friendly, calm, trustworthy and highly experienced nurse to provide Pastoral Support for the nurses.

    The International Recruitment (IR) Pastoral Support Nurse is a member of the Trust's International Recruitment Project team. Responsibilities will include welcoming, settling and preparing newly recruited internationally educated nurses (IEN'S) for their roles in the Trust, and towards the NMC Test of Competence (ToC), delivering an IEN training programme, including local training to support the preparation for the Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE). Pastoral support during the programme and on the day of the exam, which will include travelling to the exam centre with the IEN's, will be a key responsibility of the role. The post holder will also provide ongoing pastoral support for the IENs ranging from opening of bank accounts, OSCEs booking, to day to day queries they may have, therefore a sound knowledge of the Trust systems and who is who is vital.

About us

We are looking to appoint two Pastoral Support Nurses: each covering Mental Health nursing and Adult nursing respectively. These nurses will provide cover for ach other as and when needed.

The post holder must be accessible to the nurses 24/7, as and when required.

Working under the direction of the Trust Lead for International Recruitment, you will develop and deliver the a clinical induction programme designed to ensure that all IEN'S have a robust and supportive induction to East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) and are effectively integrated into their teams.
